Improving output Quality

Due to our satisfaction survey, more than 80% users concern the output quality before they decide to purchase PPT2DVD. For most conditions, the output quality loses a little comparing with original presentation because of the technical limitation of DVD format. Following tips may help you to achieve better quality while converting specific presentations to DVD.

 

1. Optimize the page size of your presentation

    PPT2DVD suggests the optimum page size according to your settings on Settings screen, under Video Settings. If the original page size is not the same as the optimum one, please adjust the page size of your presentations under PowerPoint. To change the page size, do the following:

     

  • For PowerPoint 2003
    Launch PowerPoint, go to File > Page Setup, and then enter the optimum width and height to corresponding fields. Please be careful of the units for the width and height.

  • For PowerPoint 2007
    Launch PowerPoint, go to Design > Page Setup, and then enter the optimum width and height to corresponding fields. Please be careful of the units for the width and height.

 

2. Use Wondershare sound recorder to retain sounds in presentations

    This is a new feature of PPT2DVD 5.0. Wondershare sound recorder is a virtual hardware which helps PPT2DVD retain sounds in your presentations no matter what formats they are.

     

    How to install Wondershare sound recorder?

  • While installing PPT2DVD, you will be asked to install Wondershare sound recorder. You just need to click Next to move on to the default installation of sound recorder. The process may take a few minutes.

  • If you have not installed Wondershare sound recorder yet, go to PPT2DVD > Preferences > Advanced Settings > Sound Setup, click [Install Sound Recorder].

    •  

    How to use Wondershare sound recorder?

    Go to PPT2DVD > Preferences > Advanced Settings > Sound Setup, tick Use Wondershare sound recorder to retain sounds.

    Note: If you use sound recorder to retain sounds in your presentations, all sounds producedby your computer will be recorded to the output. Please cllose all media players before conversion. This sound recorder is not available on 64-bit OS for the current version of PPT2DVD.

 

3. Choose proper encoding quality

    The default video encoding quality is High. But it is not always the best. The optimum quality setting for different presentations varies. You can find the encoding quality at Preferences > Advanced Settings > Output Quality.

     

  • For presentations that contain a big amount of complex and complicated animations, Low quality is recommended. If you choose High, the animations may looks intermittent.

  • For presentations that contain much text but no complicated animations, Very High is recommended.

  • For presentations that contain many videos and images but no complicated animations, High is recommended.

4. Use progressive scan for MPEG-2/DVD

Usually you can see the output quality become better after Use progressive scan for MPEG-2/DVD. You can choose this option from Preferences > Advanced Settings > Compatibility.

 

Because the natural encoding efficiency of MPEG is much lower than WMV and AVI, WMV or AVI formats are recommended if your device supports it.
