I have created a PowerPoint 2003 presentation that has several music files ... the mp3 files are in the same folder as the presentation so they don't get detached.

I have set the music to play until the end of the track by using the "customise" effects menu to play over several slides and selecting which slide I want the music to end on. The second musical piece starts on the next series of slides and again plays through that second series.

When creating a DVD with PPT2DVD (version 5.5) I select both automatic play and manual play conversions. The DVD is created perfectly.

When playing back the DVD in automatic mode, the music plays over all the designated slides, stops at the designated slide, and the next music starts on the following slide after the first set.

However, in manual mode, the music will start playing when I show the first slide, but will stop as soon as I get to the second slide. That first music never plays again but, when I reach the slide with the second piece of music, the second piece of music starts ... but stops when I go to the next slide in the series of slides for that particular piece of music. And so on.

Is there a way around this?
I have a project due tomorrow and there are some really awesome youtube videos I want my class to see when I present but I'm not good with computers and was wondering if there was anyway to put onto something so that they can view them, without me having to go the actual website. Our school has Bess which blocks a lot of websites, including myspace, youtube, and other video viewing sites. So if anyone knows how I can put these videos onto some microsoft program to transfer them and be able to watch them at school i would appreciate it sooo much! It would mean a lot to me!

Free Online Photo Editors to Enhance your Photos for Photo Slideshow

We may take many photos on Holidays and events, like Birthday, Wedding, Reunion. With these beautiful or funny pictures, we would like to make a photo album with animation and music to bring more life to the pictures.
If you have PowerPoint, it is recommended in my old posts to make digital photo album.
Before we start to add photos to our photo album project, we may need to optimize or enhance the picture with some special effects.
We do not have professional photo editing tool Photoshop. What can we do?

Don’t worry. We can use some online free photo editor to do this.
The following two recommended websites would help you.
http://editor.pho.to/
http://www.freeonlinephotoeditor.com

We can use them to:
->> Rotate, Crop and Resize it.
->> Adjust its basic effects.
->> Enhance it by applying special or artistic effects.
->> Add frames, texts (or glitter texts) or even watermark.

Here below are three samples made by me.
To remove the red-eye with one click
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/3649407279_dbf6cb0571.jpg?v=0

To add frame
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3642/3649407365_23959fa973.jpg?v=0

To apply artistic effect and add glitter text
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2432/3649407443_dfccf8895b.jpg?v=0

Besides these kinds of online editor, you can also use some shareware to make photo collages for the photo album, digital scrapbook.
If you have Windows PC, you may try this Photo Collage.
If you have Mac, you may try this iCollage tool.

After enhancing the pictures, then you can get started making photo album with PowerPoint. You can also add music to spice it up further.
After completion, you can choose to save the PowerPoint slide show to DVD for widely distribution and sharing.

As the first provider to provide PowerPoint to DVD solutions, we also are the first company to provide the DVD menu theme to make our customers look more professional when creating DVD from PowerPoint presentation.

In the new version PPT2DVD 5.3, we add the DVD menu theme settings based on templates. After you apply a menu theme, a suite of root menu, title menu and the play options menu with matched frames and icons will be available. You may learn it from the illustration below.

Then, what is the difference and benefits of such DVD menu theme compared with the previous templates?
You may learn it from the two illustrations below.

Menus from PPT2DVD 5.2.0

Menus from PPT2DVD 5.3.0

In the previous version Wondershare PPT2DVD 5.2, the background of the DVD menu templates are the same.

In the new version of Wondershare PPT2DVD 5.3, the backgrounds of the root menu, title menu and the play options menu are not the same but a series of similar pictures.

The backgrounds, frames and icons are more vivid.

Besides the benefits of the menu theme, there are more new features you may like:

Project description, yes, this is a new feature suggested by one of our customers Stephen. It is necessary for you to add a summery if the presentations are focus on one theme.

Additional DVD templates, you can download the free DVD menu templates to customize your DVD menu from this page>>

More buttons, frames and icons.

PowerPoint is among the most prevalent forms of persuasive technology used by business people, educators, students and trainers. Suppose you need to burn PowerPoint to DVD, I know it is not very popular, the most common reasons for converting PowerPoint to DVD are usability, portability and storage. Since DVD has become the preferred video format for most consumer applications and computer peripherals, creating a PowerPoint DVD makes good sense for storing and sharing. The DVD can be played on PCs which support DVD and TV with a DVD player connected.

Nowadays there are two types of tools meet the standard for converting PowerPoint to DVD. One is the screen recording tool and the other is the PowerPoint converter. The typical examples for these two types are TechSmith Camtasia and Wondershare PPT2DVD, after the testing, you may find the difference between these two tools.

TechSmith Camtasia

TechSmith Camtasia allows customers to create professional and engaging presentations, demonstrations and marketing videos in HD-quality video to reach audiences online, on portable media devices, or on popular online video sharing sites. Furthermore, Camtasia provides a PowerPoint add-in which can quickly and easily record PowerPoint presentations and produce DVD right from within PowerPoint.

Pros of using Camtasia to convert PowerPoint to DVD:

1.Staring slide show in PowerPoint, you may advance the presentation as you wish. The output will look the same as rehearse.
2.You may add narrations into your slide show while playing in PowerPoint.
3.You may edit the recorded video with Camtasia. Many great and practical features are provided.
4.You can save the video file to almost all of the common multimedia formats like SWF, MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV, RM, EXE and GIF.
5.A 30 days free try may meet your short term demand.

Cons of using Camtasia to convert PowerPoint to DVD: You need a powerful computer (higher than mainstream configuration) to run Camtasia smoothly because it consumes a lot system resources when recording PowerPoint. The recommended RAM is 2GB and the processor is 3GHz. The recording process may be freeze sometime if your PC is a dog. When burning the PowerPoint video to DVD, a third part DVD burning software is needed.

Wondershare PPT2DVD

“If you're interested in sharing your PowerPoint presentations as DVDs to be played on a DVD player, this program gives you a simple, no-fuss way to do it. Wondershare PPT2DVD burns a completed presentation to a DVD, and includes all aspects of it, including transitions, music, videos, and so on.” From PC world, Preston Gralla.

As the first program that provides the PowerPoint to DVD solution, PPT2DVD has its own features such as:

1.The converting process is very simple and no-fuss just as Preston said, import the PowerPoint presentations into the program (you can import 12 files at a time), choose the right output format and some advanced settings if you need, then the program can convert your PowerPoint presentation to DVD without your attendance.
2.The DVD menu makes the output more easily to navigate. You can jump to the right presentation with a DVD remote control.
3.The playing mode, playing DVD automatically or manually gives you more choices when presenting your PowerPoint to your audience on TV.
4.It retains all sounds, animations, video clips and even the hyperlinks (between slides) in the output files.
5.Compared to Camtasia, an average configured is power enough for Wondershare PPT2DVD.

Compare to the first conversion method, in the converting process, you cannot figure out how will the output looks like. Just like a black box, you don’t know what happened in it. Sometimes it may lead the unpredictable failure. And, PPT2DVD can just record the elements in the PowerPoint, it is not possible for you to add your voice to your presentation, hope this function will be added in the future version.

Still, there are many other PowerPoint to DVD/video tools on the Internet like Acoolsoft PPT2DVD, E.M. Free PowerPoint Video Converter, authorSTREAM and so on. Users who are looking for the PowerPoint to DVD/video converter can have an evaluation about them.
