Many times we have incorporated our client’s PowerPoint slides into their video and DVD productions. Because computer displays and television displays are different, keeping a few things in mind will be of help to both of us.
PowerPoint presentations are optimized for computers. DVDs are optimized for television. There are a number of differences between high-resolution output for computers and low-resolution output for television. Basically, computer resolution is far greater than television’s resolution of 720 x 486 pixels (NTSC). Also, normal televisions at a minimum crop as much as 10% from around the edge (5% from each edge), resulting in a number of consequences when incorporating PowerPoint images into your video production and then to DVD. Keeping the following guidelines in mind when designing your PowerPoint presentation will help insure a good DVD experience as well.
These are as follows
• Try to use 30 pt fonts or higher as small text may get lost on video.
• Use sans serif (e.g. Arial, Helvetica) bold fonts.
• Use no more than 4 or 5 lines of text per slide.
• Avoid the color red, use darker colors and greens and blues.
• Keep your graphics simple.
• Provide at least a 15% border around the edge.
We realize that these recommendations may seem limiting to you for your live presentation but it helps to be aware of this. In addition, audiences basically prefer simpler graphics. Too much information can cause them to disassociate altogether with the slide.

Do que vou precisar?
Você precisará dos itens listados abaixo, em cada um deles existe um link onde você ao clicar poderá encontrar o produto ou item.
- Uma gravadora de CD ou DVD;
- Uma mídia (virgem ou regravável) de CD ou DVD;
- Ter o software PPT2DVD instalado no computador;
- Uma apresentação do PowerPoint;
Preparando o terreno
Partindo do ponto que você já tenha o PPTtoDVD instalado em seu computador e que já tenha baixado a apresentação do PowerPoint que disponibilizei ali acima, irei prosseguir com os procedimentos para gravar a apresentação.
É importante que você não realize outras tarefas em seu computador durante os procedimentos de gravação ou conversão da apresentação, todos os procedimentos de conversão costumam utilizar muito os recursos do computador, se você estiver utilizando softwares leves como o msn ou navegando no orkut não terá problemas, mas, sites como YouTube e outros softwares que precisam de grande quantidade de memória podem prejudicar a gravação da apresentação do PowerPoint.
Realizando as configurações iniciais
Acesse Menu Iniciar > Programas > Wondershare > PPT2DVD > PPT2DVD
Selecionando o tipo de conversão
Na tela principal do PPT2DVD, você deve escolher a saída do arquivo, ou seja, o formato em que a apresentação deverá ser convertido, no PPT2DVD você terá que escolher em Select output format.
A opção Make video from PowerPoint permite que você converta sua apresentação em diversos formatos de vídeo como WMV, AVI, MPEG1 e MPEG2.
Para este artigo iremos apenas gravar a apresentação para reproduzir no DVD, sendo assim, selecione a opção Create DVD from PowerPoint e clique em Next.
Selecionando a apresentação
O PPT2DVD permite que você grave até 12 apresentações do PowerPoint em um único CD ou DVD. Neste passo é necessário selecionar a apresentação ou as apresentações que você
deseja gravar.
Neste caso você precisa clicar em Browse…
Depois de selecionado o PPT2DVD exibe uma miniatura do primeiro slide de sua apresentação juntamente com algumas configurações sobre as animações da apresentação.
Como já disse você pode adicionar mais de uma apresentação e caso você adicione uma apresentação por engano e queira removê-la basta clicar sobre a miniatura e em seguida no botão Remove localizado na parte inferior da área onde se localizam as miniaturas das apresentações.
Você ainda pode escolher se deseja que o slide inicie-se automaticamente ou se deseja mudar de um slide para outro clicando com o controle do DVD. Isto pode ser configurado nas seguintes opções:
- Play the slides automatically para mudar slides automaticamente;
- Play the slides manually para mudar slides manualmente usando o controle remoto do DVD;
Clique em Next.
Alterando as preferencias
A aba preferencias permite que você escolha a imagem de fundo para a tela inicial, seria algo equivalente aquela tela que aparece no menu do DVD quando vamos clicar no play ou selecionar o idioma do filme.
As preferencias não fazem parte do objetivo deste artigo então fica a seu critério e curiosidade utilizar estas opções.
Clique em Next.

O PPT2DVD permite que você apresente os slides como se fossem um filme em DVD com menus e tudo mais, você pode até mesmo personalizar a cor dos textos, botões e qual a forma de exibição do meu marcando a opção Disable DVD menu.

o PPT2DVD permite que você previsualize os slides selecionados, eu tentei aqui mas demora demais, então nem perco tempo utilizando esta função.

Gravando a apresentação no CD
Esta é a ultima parte do processo de gravar uma apresentação do PowerPoint para o CD e ver no DVD.
O PPT2DVD irá converter a apresentação em um arquivo de vídeo e precisará salva-lo em uma pasta, a pasta é indicada no campo Output folder.
Como nosso objetivo é gravar a apresentação marque a opção Burn to disc, no campo Program, selecione no campo CD/DVD burner o seu gravador de CD ou DVD e em Volume label dê o nome para o seu vídeo.
Clique em Start, o software irá exibir uma caixa de alerta que em resumo pergunta se você já adicionou o CD ou DVD virgem no drive para ser gravado.
Clique em Sim para que o PPT2DVD inicie a gravação da apresentação. Em seguida será exibida outra caixa de alerta informando que você deve fechar todos os players de seu computador, recomendo que você feche todos os programas mais pesados.
Acompanhando a gravação
Quando a gravação se inicia o PPT2DVD exibe os procedimentos de gravação.
Ao finalizar a gravação da apresentação do PowerPoint para o DVD o PPT2DVD exibe a seguinte tela.
Dicas e outras informações
Quando a gravação inicia você pode (caso queira) marcar a opção Shut down the computer when all the task are completed, isto permite que após terminar a gravação o computador seja desligado, assim, você pode deixa-lo trabalhando.
Para economizar uns trocados (dinheiro) ao invés de usar uma mídia de DVD utilize mídia de CD afinal suas apresentações não vão ocupar 700MB ou vão?
