Adding shapes to a PowerPoint slide.
You can add shapes to a PowerPoint slide be simply using the AutoShapes button from the Drawings toolbar. You can also add symbols and text to a shape if you like.

Often times, slides will not show up in Word 95 when using PowerPoint’s Write-Up. The notes will come up alright, but the slides will appear as an empty box with resize handles. You can take care of this problem by simply turning off the picture placeholders in Word. This is done by simply:
Opening the Tools menu.
Selecting Options.
Then click the View tab, and deselect the check box labeled Picture Placeholders.
The slides should come up normally now.
